Ep. 95 - Ananta Ripa Ajmera - Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedanta & the Art of Life

YouTube version:

Audio version:

Hey everybody! Episode 95 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Ananta Ripa Ajmera. I was really happy to have Ananta come on the podcast and speak about Ayurveda, yoga, and Vedanta. I had been wanting to have someone come on for a long time to speak about Ayurveda, so Ananta was a great fit. Ayurveda is known as the knowledge or science of life, and it’s an ancient system of holistic health and has a lot to share. It also encompasses aspects of yoga and stems from Vedic thought, and it was great to have Ananta go into all of these subjects. I hope you enjoy the conversation and wisdom of Ananta. Ep. 75 - The Conscious Perspective - Plant Medicine Ceremonies, Tradition, & the Sacred

YouTube version:

Audio version:

Hey everybody! Episode 75 of the show is out. This is an interview I did with Gary Haskins on his podcast, The Conscious Perspective. Some of you have asked for some more interviews where I am speaking, so I thought this interview I recently did with Gary would serve that purpose well. In the interview, we talk about sacred plant medicines, their ceremonial uses, the importance of tradition, and what these plants may be pointing towards. I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do as well. Check out Gary’s podcast and consider supporting his work if you can. As always, to support this podcast, get early access to shows, bonus material, and Q&As, check out my Patreon page below. Enjoy!

"Jason began learning holistic systems of medicine such as herbalism, Traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and nutrition in his 20s. That curiosity eventually led him to the Amazon where he began to work with plants to learn traditional ways of healing. His experience combines many different modalities of working with plants. The plants of the Amazon, and the ways in which the peoples of Amazon work with them, have had a revelatory effect on his life.

After having worked with ayahuasca quite extensively, he began the process of dieting plants. He has dieted in the Shipibo tradition and began working with maestro Ernesto Garcia Torres in 2013, delving deep into the world of dieting. Through a prolonged apprenticeship and training, involving prolonged isolation, fasting, and dieting of plants, he was given the blessing to begin working with plants as a tabaquero, and was eventually given the ability to administer diets; to share in the tradition from which he had learned and which has taught him so much. He has been living, learning, and working in the jungle for the last seven years. He currently runs dietas with his colleague, Merav Artzi, in the Sacred Valley of Peru and works at the Temple of the Way of Light as a facilitator of ayahuasca ceremonies. In the past seven years, he has helped guide over a thousand people in ceremonies.

Jason has practiced and taught yoga and enjoys practicing regularly Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Plants truly are our food, our life, our medicine, and they are alive and here to help us learn from them. They can open us to a world that we perhaps never could have imagined: the world of who we are. When we approach them with respect, honor, humility, and a genuine desire to learn, they can open the doors of life and heal us on all levels. Jason is deeply grateful to all of his teachers, everyone that has helped him in this journey to where he is, and to wherever it may lead."

Ep. 73 - Sondra Hamilton - Herbalism, Plant-Spirit Medicine, and Rediscovery

YouTube version:

Audio version:

Hey everybody! Episode 73 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Sondra Hamilton. I met Sondra in the Sacred Vallery of Peru and saw she had a really good knowledge of plants. I have been wanting to talk about herbalism on this show for a while, so I thought Sondra would be a perfect person to speak about that. She is an herbalist and has studied a number of ancient traditions such as European herbalism, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a few Native American herbal traditions. It was a pleasure for me to sit down with her and have her share in her knowledge of plant medicine, various traditions, and how to integrate and learn from both plants, traditions, and our own innate wisdom. I think you all will enjoy this episode, much as I did. As always, to support this podcast, get early access to shows, bonus material, and Q&As, check out my Patreon page below. Enjoy!

"Sondra Hamilton is a Mystic Herbalist, and Ayurvedic Health Counselor who works with the wisdom and elements of Mother Nature including: plants, stones, sacred mountains, water, air, ether, fire, water and earth.

In 2012 Sondra heard the calling from the plants and enrolled in a Plant Spirit Herbalist program in Denver, CO. She started to have a remembering process of healing others with plants and stones in previous lifetimes. This process led her to Peru numerous times to study with ceremonial plants, the Apus (Mountains) and Munay Ki Rites. The energy of Peru guided Sondra to continue her plant journey at Herb Pharm and The Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine in Asheville, NC. In 2015 Sondra immersed herself on the island of Kauai, Hawaii at Hale Pule where she completed a 200 hour Yoga and Ayurvedic teacher training. Sondra continued her studies at Hale Pule completing a 600 hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor Program. After the program she had a deep calling to travel to the source of Ayurveda and immerse herself in a Panchakarma at a Ayurvedic Hospital in Southern India. Her knowledge of health and healing has provided a deeper wisdom for integrating Eastern and Western healing modalities. Sondra continues to study with maestra Estela Roman in Mexico, learning Curanderismo from Aztec and Mexican Ancestral traditions.

Sondra has been blessed to have diverse teachers and guides on her path that have given her the opportunity to deepen her wisdom of the original medicines of Peru, Greece and India. Her love of plants, animals and Mother Earth extend into each healing session invoking a deeper evolution for self-empowerment. The land she travels teaches her the innate intuitive wisdom that resides in all of us and the importance of honoring and praising our Ancestors. May the plants guide your way home!!!"
