Eduardo and I met working together at the Amazonian plant-medicine center the Temple of the Way of Light. ‘Edu’ has a really interesting story and I’ve gotten to know him and seen him do really good work. He approaches this work through his own journey of healing and knowledge and brings that depth to his work. He is a very talented musician and a genuinely nice guy with a big heart and desire to share and help. I have a lot of respect for Edu and I hope his sharing inspires and teaches. “Eduardo Carvalho is a musician with 23 years of experience.

Four years ago he started his spiritual adventure with sacred medicine plants. The work started by going through his own process of healing by doing ceremonies in the Netherlands and dieting in Peru. On this journey it was clear that his music skill and vibration would become his new life path. At that time he was invited to tour Europe and Peru doing ceremonies with a ‘Mestizo’ shaman. After an extensive process of retreats, the time came to part ways with his shaman and then he embarked on a self-healing journey with Shipibo lineage shamans doing dietas in Peru with different curanderos.

In January of 2019, he took a ‘curandero initiation course’ by the Ayahuasca Foundation at the Inkan Kena plant medicine school in Iquitos dieting master plants and learning all of what entails leading an ayahuasca ceremony.

The personal approach to the work can be varied between icaros from different lineages, plus the medicine songs and several different types of instruments and frequencies.

We did the same plant-medicine initiation and training, working with tobacco and tree diets. Merav is a great wealth of knowledge and has a depth of experience working with plant medicines. She runs ceremonies and dietas in the tobacco tradition in which she was trained. I have a lot of respect for Merav and her work. It’s one of the main reasons I decided to join forces with her and offer plant dietas together with her, joining our knowledge and offering the benefits of working with a man and woman. I have known about Tatayo for a number of years as we share mutual friends and he comes from the same tradition that I worked with iboga with. He was called to Gabon and to iboga over forty years ago where he has been living and working ever since. It was an honor to talk to someone with so much experience working with such a powerful plant and a pleasure to hear him speak about his life, iboga, and his experiences and thoughts on Gabon and life. We spoke for almost three hours and it was a fascinating conversation and one of my favorites. I hope and think you all will get a lot out of this conversation. “Tatayo (“Fruit of the Wind”) first came to Gabon in 1971 at the age of 21 and became a Gabonese citizen and settled in Libreville. He was the first white person to be initiated into the Bwiti Fang tradition in Gabon in 1979 and was later initiated into the Misokko traditions in 1994. Some would say that Tatayo has since “opened the door” to westerners in Gabon, and has served as a guide for numerous expeditions and missions including National Geographic, the BBC, and many others. He co-founded his first Gabonese NGO in 1981, which has since lead to the creation of Ebando in 1999 and is recognized as a healer and a Nima, someone who has freed and detached himself. Having initiated more than 350 banzis (initiates), he has supported hundreds of local people, or, he has indirectly supported thousands of local people, leaving a substantial positive footprint along the way.”

“Doña Wilma Pinedo is a fourth-generation Healer, Shaman, and Medicine Woman from the Andean Sacred Valley In Peru.  She comes from a long lineage of well-respected healers and teachers, and was Initiated from before birth, by Father Sky - while pregnant with Wilma, her mother was struck by lightning. 

Wilma began apprenticing with her elders at the age of 2, and by age 12 she was formally initiated as a healer in the Andean tradition, reading coca leaves and using her intuition to tell people how to heal themselves, often with amazing results.

Wilma's family includes a long list of well-known and deeply revered Masters, including her father Martín Pinedo, mother María Sánchez, and great-uncle Don Benito Qoriwaman - who taught teachers Juan Nuñez del Prado, América Yabar and Oscar Miro-Quesada, and introduced Alberto Villoldo to the Q'eros nation. Her great-grandfather and a master from the Waskar Lineage, Don Melchor Desa, also taught Juan Nuñez del Prado. 

Wilma learned English (a rarity in the Andes) and was one of the people asked to accompany the Dalai Lama to Machu Picchu. She uses her gift as a tool for healing, peace, and unity.”
