Hey everybody! Episode 84 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with my friend Stephano Gutierrez Manrique. I met Stephano a couple of years ago as we both practice Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in the Sacred Valley of Peru where he lives and works. Stephano works with plant medicines, especially Wuachuma, Wilca, and DMT. He also has a very good knowledge of the Andean cosmovision and we had a really interesting conversation about plant medicines, Qero, and ancestral knowledge, and even touched on ancient civilizations. Stephano was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Strongly pulled towards a quieter lifestyle, he left his career of Flair Bartender and management of hotels decided to change his life to live within the communities of the Sacred Valley of the Incas in order to seek his purpose in life. From his all journey since 2013, Stephano does not stop learning from the living knowledge that the indigenous people of the High Andean communities of Cusco saves for those who earn their trust, Stephano learned from them an important ancient law called “Ayni” in Quechua the reciprocity, because thanks to the help to all the teachings that the Andean people of Cusco and “Pachamama” (Mother earth) gave him, Andean Encounters was founded to ascribe them back everything that the Andean people of Cusco did for him, thanks to it, Stephano found his purpose and he feels like a living entity son of Pachamama (Mother Earth) to be able to offer his most sacred secrets from the origins of Qosqo and its cosmogony so he can share it with the rest of the world.

Fuertemente atraído por un estilo de vida más tranquilo, dejó su carrera de Flair Bartender y la gestión de hoteles y decidió cambiar su vida para vivir dentro de las comunidades del Valle Sagrado de los Incas con el fin de buscar su propósito en la vida, desde 2013. Stephano no deja de aprender del saber vivo que los indígenas de las comunidades altoandinas del Cusco guardan para quienes se ganan su confianza, Stephano aprendió de ellos una importante ley milenaria llamada “Ayni” en quechua la reciprocidad, pues gracias a la ayuda a todas las enseñanzas que el pueblo andino del Cusco y la “Pachamama” (Madre tierra) le dieron, Encuentros Andinos fue fundado para atribuirles de vuelta todo lo que el pueblo andino del Cusco hizo por él, gracias a ello Stephano encontró su propósito y se siente un ente viviente hijo de la Pachamama (Madre Tierra) para poder ofrecer sus más sagrados secretos desde los orígenes del Qosqo y su cosmogonía para poder compartirlo con el resto del mundo .

Hey everybody! Episode 83 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Alonso del Rio. I had heard about Alonso for a number of years and two of my friends spoke very highly of him. Alonso is an ayahuasquero who lives and works in the Sacred Valley of Peru and has a medicine center, Ayahuasca Ayllu. He also wrote a very good book called Tawantinsuyo 5.0. I knew Alonso had a lot of wisdom to share and this interview lived up to my hope. Alonso has been immersed in this work for over forty years and is one of the first people I know to have worked with the Shipibo people. That experience and wisdom are evident when Alonso speaks, being able to bridge the world of plants to the daily world and to be able to bridge many concepts into ideas that are easy to understand. To me, this is a sign of wisdom and it was a pleasure and honor to have Alonso share in this deep conversation. Thank you to my friend Bruno Morey for the translation. Alonso del Río, lived in the jungle for 13 years following the training of a traditional healer under the guidance of Don Benito Arévalo, one of the most recognized Onaya Shipibo (medicine man), who died in 2005 at age 84.

After learning the traditional songs of medicine shared by his teacher, he receives his own songs and introduces the use of the guitar in ceremonies, creating a sacred bridge between cultures and creating a new musical genre called Medicine Music.

On the other hand his studies on comparative religions and ancestral spirituality led him to develop a proposal based on solid bases and perfectly adequate to today's seeker.

His research is captured in two books called "Tawantinsuyp 5.0" and "The Four Altars" and in several documentaries on sacred plants ("Urpillay Sonqollay", "The Medicine of Forgiveness").

To date he has published ten albums sharing the music he uses in his ceremonies

Alonso del Río, vivió en la sevla durante 13 años siguiento la formación de un curandero tradicional bajo la guia de Don Benito Arévalo, uno de los más reconocidos Onaya Shipibo (hombre de medicina), fallecido en el año 2005 a los 84 años.

Luego de aprender los cantos tradicionales de medicina, compartidos por su maestro, el recibe sus propios cantos e introduce el uso de la guitarra en las ceremonias, creando un puente sagrado entre las culturas y creando un nuevo género musical llamado Música Medicina.

Por otro lado sus estudios sobre religiones comparadas y espiritualidad ancestral lo llevaron a desarrollar una propuesta basada en solidas bases y perfectamente adecuada al buscador de hoy.

Sus investigaciones están plasmadas en dos libros llamados “Tawantinsuyp 5.0” y “Los Cuatro Altares” y en varios documentales sobre las plantas sagradas (“Urpillay Sonqollay”, “La medicina del perdón”).

A la fecha ha publicado diez discos compartiendo la música medicina que usa en sus ceremonias.
