Ep. 159 - Michael Amster - The Power of Awe

YouTube version:

Audio version:

Hey everybody! Episode 159 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Michael Amster. Michael is a really interesting guy. He is a medical doctor who has bridged many different spiritual paths together. Through mindfulness he developed a practice to, as he puts it, microdose awe. He co-wrote a book called The Power of Awe which is about just that, the power of awe to positively influence our lives. As someone who works with plant medicines, I also think that this experience of awe is one of, if not the most important, aspects of this work with plants and also at the core of what it means to be a human being. It was a pleasure to have Michael on to share his research and I trust you all will gain much from this interview. Hey everybody! Episode 158 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Roman Hanis. This is my second time interviewing Roman. I really enjoyed our first interview with Roman and was impressed with his wisdom and what he had to share. He is releasing a book soon so I was happy to heave him back on to speak about it. Its called Beyond Ayahuasca: Evolutionary Science of Indigenous Amazonian Wisdom. I had the pleasure to read it a while back and really enjoyed it. Its full of wisdom about these traditional technologies and I think you all will gain much from this episode as from the first. “Roman Hanis has been working closely with the indigenous Peruvian cultures in the Amazonian rainforest and Andean mountains since 2001. During this time he has devoted this life to learning the ancient healing ways of these cultures while seeking possibilities for creating ecological sources of sustenance for local populations and working to preserve the rainforest and its spiritual heritage of sacred medicinal plants.

Seeing the vital role that ancient cultural practices can play in today’s world, Roman honors and shares their value and wisdom through his work in community projects, healing retreats and educational workshops in both Peru and the U.S…

Roman looks forward to eradicating suffering in the world and its cause, ignorance, by promoting education on the possibilities of more sustainable, harmonious relationships with nature, while simultaneously creating supportive, self-sustaining and nurturing communities.”

Ep. 157 - Todd Roberts & Lacey Ann Luna - The Medicine Path: Ayahuasca & Shipibo Lineage

YouTube version:

Audio version:

Hey everybody! Episode 157 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with my friends Todd and Lacey. Todd and Lacey and I go quite far back where we met working together at the ayahuasca center the Temple of the Way of Light. They have started their own ayahuasca retreat called Intertwining Medicines where they work within the Shipibo lineage. It was a pleasure to sit down and catch up with them both. They have been involved in this medicine path for a long time and both hold a lot of wisdom and teachings. We spoke about their background, facilitation, healing, black magic and brujeria, and the evolution of this work. I have a lot of respect for both of them and think they have a lot to share. I trust you all will gain much from this episode. As always, to support this podcast, check out my Patreon page below. Enjoy!

“Lacey is an international yoga teacher specializing in yin yoga, vinyasa, hatha yoga, and hot yoga. The significant healing that yoga brought to Lacey’s life eventually led her to her first ceremony one year after her yoga teacher training graduation. Her medicine path now is entirely devoted to her shamanic development with plants and energy healing in the extended containers of ayahuasca plant dietas. Lacey has been in full time apprenticeship with the Shipibo tradition since 2019, and with the permission and blessings of her initial teachers, she has begun holding her own small ceremonies in Peru and singing Shipibo icaros. She offers long distance pranic healing energy work to clients around the world. She also holds online Zoom coaching sessions to those seeking plant medicine development, ongoing support with ayahuasca integration, empathetic listening, and guidance on Mind-Body-Spirit health.”

“Todd is a world traveller, university graduate, multi disciplinary visual artist, and outdoor athlete. His interest in shamanism and all things mysterious began at an early age, and is what eventually brought him in contact with ayahuasca in the beginning of 2004 when he attended his first Shipibo based ceremony on Vancouver Island. After a personal life shift at the end of 2012, Todd visited Temple of the Way of Light outside of Iquitos, Peru as a guest. Later in mid 2019, Todd joined the facilitation team at Soltara Healing Center in Costa Rica. Less than two years later Todd was promoted to Director of Retreats for Soltara until spring of 2023 when he relocated to Peru. Todd continues to dedicate himself to the ever evolving path of plant medicines with nearly two decades of experience within the realms of pre and post ceremony support, integration guidance, conscious communication, and insight practices. When he is not facilitating retreats, Todd spends his time in his art studio with his creative outlets of painting, designing digital art, and tattooing. His other passion in life is surfing.”
